Part Time Academic Success Coach
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Academic Success Coach to supervise students during Homework Studio, an independent study period that supplements one-to-one instruction. Students use a quiet work area and computers to complete coursework-related assignments, practice study habits, build executive function skills, and/or take exams. The coach oversees students and motivates them to complete their tasks. Brightmont Academy provides one-to-one instruction for students in grades 1–12 in a personalized learning environment. The role may also involve teaching students individually using lessons tailored to their needs and learning styles, guiding them toward mastery through a gradual-release approach, and supporting their academic success. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not required. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing a subject with students.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
