Part Time Academic Success Coach
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Academic Success Coach to supervise students in its Homework Studio, an independent learning space that supplements one-to-one instruction. Students use the studio to complete coursework-related assignments, practice study habits and executive-function skills, and/or take exams. The coach oversees students and motivates them to complete their tasks. Brightmont Academy provides one-to-one instruction for students in grades 1–12, with lessons tailored to individual needs and learning styles. The role uses a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve academic mastery. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not part of the work described. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
