About The Position

A well-established academic healthcare organization is seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Perinatal Psychiatrist to join a growing psychiatry and behavioral health program. This position offers a balanced mix of clinical care, teaching, and academic involvement within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The role involves providing psychiatric care for prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum patients, with responsibilities spanning both inpatient consultations (Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, Behavioral Health Unit) and outpatient clinics within behavioral health and OB/GYN settings. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with phone-only call coverage supported by residents. This is an opportunity to contribute to program growth and service development alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency training in Psychiatry or Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in relevant specialty.
  • Eligible for or able to obtain state medical licensure.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in academic medicine, teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based care model.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of fellowship training in Perinatal or Reproductive Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for perinatal and reproductive mental health conditions.
  • Manage patient care across inpatient consultative services and outpatient clinics.
  • Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, behavioral health teams, and other specialists.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and/or fellows.
  • Engage in clinical program development, quality improvement, and/or research initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
