About The Position

Thriveworks is seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist licensed and located in South Carolina to provide direct psychiatric care. The role combines hands-on patient care with the option to take on leadership and clinical oversight responsibilities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality, evidence-based mental healthcare. Telepsychiatry options are available, with flexibility in schedule and work location. Clinical work is scheduled for approximately 35 hours per week, or 60–70 sessions, depending on caseload and availability. Compensation includes a guaranteed rate for the first six months, with the opportunity to earn additional fee-for-service compensation for sessions completed above the guaranteed base. Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO) with residency training in Psychiatry.
Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN).
Active and unrestricted medical license in multiple states, or willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states.
Must be licensed and located in South Carolina.
Deep understanding of the NP scope of practice in psychiatry and relevant state regulations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills.
Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

Experience in outpatient psychiatry and/or telepsychiatry settings.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, integrated care, and/or addiction psychiatry.
Multistate licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses if telehealth is part of the model.
Experience with EMR systems and virtual collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based psychiatric care for conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and ADHD.
Collaborate with therapists, case managers, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation in the EMR system.
Optionally take on leadership and clinical oversight responsibilities and support the professional development of psychiatric nurse practitioners.
