About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Resources (AVP), with additional lead work direction from the Associate Vice President and Dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, the Academic Affairs Administrative Specialist (Specialist) performs varied administrative, technical, and analytical duties and provides day-to-day administration to the Academic Affairs division. Work involves participating in the development, alteration, implementation, and evaluation of administrative policies and procedures, while independently planning and conducting research, compiling data, and preparing and presenting reports with reliable conclusions and actionable recommendations. The Specialist contributes to the completion of broad and more complex organizational and projects and goals, often providing project leadership or representing the division on key projects and events within and outside the organization. Contacts involve interaction with all levels inside and outside the university, and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education administration, institutional effectiveness, or academic program support.
  • Familiarity with event planning, outreach, and assessment in a university or nonprofit setting.
  • Knowledge of CSU and university policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of experience with databases, PeopleSoft, or CRM systems.
