About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking a dynamic and visionary Dean, Academic Affairs (Nursing) – Program Director. This leader will be responsible for overseeing the Charlotte campus nursing program, guiding academic integrity, operational excellence, and the growth of the BSN program. The role involves championing student success, cultivating a high-performing academic team, and ensuring the curriculum and learning experience are exceptional and future-focused. A key aspect of this role is supporting the expansion of the Evening and Weekend Program, which requires availability during evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing required; doctoral degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in nursing education, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Current, unencumbered RN licensure and/or multi‑state privilege to practice nursing in the Commonwealth/State (required).
  • Demonstrated strength in interpersonal communication, organizational leadership, conflict resolution, and technology proficiency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of management.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, balancing multiple priorities with clarity and focus.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with a track record of meeting expectations and delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the BSN academic strategy with a focus on driving strong student outcomes (NCLEX pass rates, persistence, graduation, and student satisfaction).
  • Actively support and own academic strategy and curriculum change from the center.
  • Lead program expansion, including the Evening and Weekend Program, ensuring operational excellence and flexibility.
  • Drive new academic initiatives with agility and vision, responding to evolving healthcare education needs.
  • Ensure curriculum delivery meets institutional standards and accreditation benchmarks through rigorous evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Nursing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Lead and coordinate site visits and accreditation reviews, maintaining program readiness and excellence.
  • Manage academic operations with national support teams, budgets, faculty workload models, and instructional resources.
  • Embed Chamberlain Care principles and Covista culture expectations into academic operations and support services.
  • Build and lead a high-performing academic team—faculty, lab, experiential learning teams, and support—aligned to student success.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, development, scheduling, performance, and retention of faculty and associate deans.
  • Ensure appropriate faculty coverage and support for evening and weekend programming.
  • Partner with ADAAs to ensure high faculty engagement and low regrettable turnover.
  • Ensure faculty are retained, continuously improving, and achieving their goals.
  • Serve as Program Director for the Charlotte campus, with full accountability for program performance, student outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure successful execution and sustainability of the campus-based BSN program, including expanded delivery models.
  • Serve as liaison to boards, communities, and internal stakeholders with professionalism and care.
  • Represent the program in regulatory, accreditation, and community engagements.
  • Work as a team—coordinating closely with the Executive Director, DAAs, and ADAAs to support student and business outcomes.
  • Prioritize student success: Anticipate and respond to student needs and empower faculty to remove barriers.
