Requirements
- Master's Degree
- Knowledge of college student development, academic advising theory, and the college environment.
- Knowledge of student support services available to college students.
- Ability to demonstrate good communication skills and personal rapport with diverse populations.
- Ability to use computerized student information systems and personal computing software.
- Experience assisting students with adjusting to college-level academic expectations.
- Demonstrate a concerned and caring attitude toward students.
Nice To Haves
- For Academic Advisor II, at least two years of direct advisory experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Assists students in achieving their educational goals by providing personalized academic planning, guidance on degree requirements, and ongoing support to promote retention and success.
- Assists with course selection, monitoring academic progress, identifying and supporting at-risk students, interpreting university policies, and connecting students with campus resources.
