About The Position

The AC Transport Driver transports asphalt cement oil from a refinery to an asphalt plant. The role involves safely operating and maintaining a truck, inspecting equipment and work sites, loading and unloading material, and complying with safety and environmental regulations. Applicants must be able to provide and maintain proper licensure, a medical card, and an acceptable driving record, and must hold a CDL Class A license with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements. The position requires effective communication, teamwork, courteous customer relations, and the ability to troubleshoot problems involving material quality or equipment. Employment is subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

Requirements

Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and a medical card.
Acceptable driving record.
CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license.
Tanker endorsement.
HAZMAT endorsement.
Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
Ability to work with difficult people in high-stress situations.
Self-motivated team player with good interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteously and respectfully.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems involving material quality or equipment operation and repair.

Responsibilities

Perform daily equipment, walk-around, and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
Maintain a driver's daily log.
Keep the truck clean in accordance with Bearcat Transportation's operational policies, procedures, and standards.
Safely operate and maintain the truck.
Follow safety policies and procedures and address unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors observed.
Properly load, secure, and unload material.
Accurately complete load tickets where applicable.
Communicate effectively and work with difficult people in high-stress situations.
Maintain positive customer relations and act courteously and respectfully toward others.
Troubleshoot and solve problems involving material quality, equipment operation, or repairs.
Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers or supervisors.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety, and environmental regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
