About The Position

As a Commissioned Transport Driver with Harms Oil Company, you safely load, transport, and deliver the correct product from supplier to customer in a timely and accurate manner. You represent the company and help maintain its reputation for friendly service at every stop. The position offers hourly pay during full-time training; after training, compensation converts to commission-based pay. New employees ride with an experienced driver for several weeks. Drivers are home nearly every night and operate late-model, well-maintained equipment.

Requirements

• Possess a Commercial Class A driver’s license with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements, or be able to obtain the endorsements by the date of hire.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Pass drug, alcohol, and medical exams according to company and DOT regulations.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.
• Be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver materials in liquid form.
• Follow safety practices and federal, state, and local regulations for operating petroleum transport.
• Accurately load and unload liquid products throughout the state where the position is based and in surrounding states.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, dispatchers, shops, and others.
