About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Cabin & Cargo Engineer for its Engineering department in Mobile, Alabama. This highly technical, operational role develops, justifies, and approves engineering solutions for aircraft systems non-conformities. Working across the Final Assembly Line, flight line, and delivery center, the engineer serves as a primary technical interface between local manufacturing and Airbus Design Offices and Chief Engineering networks. The role focuses on timely, right-first-time engineering fixes for deviations, damage, and concessions identified during final assembly, outfit inspections, ground testing, and production test flights. Its scope covers Cabin & Cargo furnishing and associated cabin systems across relevant ATA chapters, with the objective of ensuring that factory output meets Airbus Design Principles and continuous airworthiness requirements. The engineer works under formal engineering delegation on behalf of Airbus Chief Engineering and Systems Center of Competence, coordinating with international engineering teams on complex or non-standard issues. Responsibilities include authoring and approving corrective actions, repair drawings, rework instructions, temporary aircraft definitions, drawing updates, and concessions, and maintaining accountability for the safety and compliance of released engineering data. The position provides hands-on support throughout manufacturing and delivery, presents technical explanations to Flight Test and customers, and supports corrective and preventive engineering improvements. The position is based onsite at Airbus's U.S. Manufacturing Facility at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. The job requires awareness of compliance risks and a commitment to integrity.
