About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Cabin & Cargo Engineer for its Engineering department in Mobile, Alabama. This highly technical, operational role develops, justifies, and approves engineering solutions for aircraft-systems non-conformities. Working within the Final Assembly Line, flight line, and delivery center, the engineer serves as a technical interface between local manufacturing and Airbus Design Offices and Chief Engineering networks. The role delivers timely, right-first-time solutions for deviations, damage, and concessions found during final assembly, outfit inspections, ground testing, and production test flights. Its scope covers Cabin & Cargo furnishing and associated cabin systems across relevant ATA chapters. The engineer is delegated to act in the name of Airbus Chief Engineering and the Systems Center of Competence, and is accountable for the safety and compliance of released engineering data under Airbus design principles and continuing-airworthiness requirements. The position provides engineering support from initial section delivery through final ferry flight, prepares technical explanations for flight-test personnel and customers, and authors or approves repairs, corrective actions, drawing updates, temporary aircraft definitions, and concessions. It also supports improvement actions, recurring-defect prevention, related cabin-system topics, and peer mentoring.
