We’re looking for an A/V Technician Apprentice to join our Charlottesville Retail Store. As an A/V Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for installing and configuring audio visual equipment in homes and commercial settings. Your technical expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our clients enjoy a seamless and immersive audiovisual experience. We offer paid apprenticeships with hands-on training alongside experienced A/V technicians. Most apprentices complete the program in 6–12 months and transition into full technician roles.

Requirements

  • Interest or experience installing home A/V products
  • Eagerness to build technical knowledge and a willingness to put in the effort to develop news skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions clearly and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to identify problems and find ways to resolve challenges
  • Ability to use computer and necessary software
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • CEDIA, AVIXA, Control 4 and Crestron certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installs and configuration of audiovisual equipment, including but not limited to, televisions, projectors, sound systems, and smart home automation systems.
  • Assist with cable management, routing, and concealment for a clean and professional appearance.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with A/V systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific installation needs and provide personalized solutions.
  • Train clients on the proper use and maintenance of their audiovisual systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
