3DQ Lab Technologist I - 1.0 FTE Rotating (08-HR) - Hybrid
About The Position
The Stanford Health Care 3D and Quantitative Imaging Laboratory (3DQ Lab) is a specialized interdisciplinary center within the Stanford Department of Radiology. Its core mission is to develop and apply innovative software and visualization techniques to analyze medical imaging data. These methods directly translate complex 2D data into actionable clinical models. The lab leverages advanced image-processing platforms to support multiple medical specialties, including cardiothoracic surgery, oncology, neurosurgery, and pediatrics. The 3D Lab Technologist I works under supervision to perform routine 3D post-processing and image reconstruction to support clinical imaging workflows. Assists radiologists and senior technologists in generating high-quality images using established protocols. Supports department operations and training activities and may assist with research activities as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in related field required.
- One (1) year of directly related work experience in CT/MRI or related required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, reliability, and a self-directed work style.
- Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Working knowledge of medical imaging principles, including tissue contrast and image quality; ability to identify images for post-processing and recognize artifacts.
- Familiarity with computer systems and operating systems (e.g., Unix, Windows, Mac, or Linux) and ability to operate and troubleshoot imaging systems as needed.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and adhere to established protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot, document, and communicate equipment or system issues.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- ARRT-RTR - Reg Tech-Radiography ARRT required or California Radiologic Tech (CRT): Certified by the State of California Department of Health Services in Diagnostic Radiology required or ARMRIT - Amer Reg Mag Imaging Res Tech required
Nice To Haves
- Any Combination of Education and Experience in lieu of Education may be considered.
- Experience with 3D reformations/post-processing and/or supporting imaging-related workflows is preferred.
- Advanced ARRT registry (e.g., CT, MR) preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs routine 3D post-processing and image reconstruction using established protocols.
- Operates 3D workstations and related computer systems to generate and manage imaging data.
- Assists radiologists and senior technologists with image preparation and post-processing tasks.
- Ensures that equipment and accessories are maintained and functioning; reports issues to supervisor.
- Troubleshoots equipment and system issues and escalates as appropriate.
- Post-processes volumetric digital image data and produces measurements as required.
- Accurately records procedures performed and maintains required documentation and databases.
- Participates in orientation and training activities as assigned.
- Assists with quality assurance activities and adheres to departmental protocols and standards.
- Supports department operations and workflow as needed.
- Assists with research activities and imaging protocols as needed.
