About The Position

The 21st CCLC After School Programming Support Staff will provide support for after-school programs, assisting students with reteaching information, actively participating in daily instruction, and completing assigned tasks. This role involves initiating and encouraging student participation, maintaining positive relationships with students and staff, and seeking guidance when needed. The staff member will monitor students in assigned areas, support positive behavior management, and utilize de-escalation strategies. Responsibilities also include arriving and departing on time, working with small groups on skill-building, and performing other duties such as taking attendance and snack counts.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree or 60 hours of college credit required.
Experience working in a school setting.
De-escalation strategies, social and emotional learning strategies, and relationship building skills.
Leadership skills.
Position requires self-initiative and active engagement and participation throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior experience working for USD 116 Afterschool Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

Answer questions and provide reteaching of information to students participating in the program.
Actively participate in the program, contribute to daily instruction, and complete all assigned tasks.
Initiate and encourage students attending the program.
Maintain a positive relationship with the students and staff working in the program.
Ask for guidance and assistance from the teacher and/or coordinator when unable to assist a student.
Monitor and supervise the students within assigned areas of the school.
Support positive approaches for dealing with student behavior.
Utilize de-escalation strategies when needed.
Arrive and depart on time for your scheduled work.
Work with small groups on skill-building activities.
Perform other specialized duties as assigned (i.e. taking attendance, snack counts, program arrival and departure times).
