About The Position
The Digital and Content Writer develops digital, print, and multimedia content supporting NSF OLPA communications. This role focuses on producing accessible, engaging content for web, video, and audio platforms that communicate NSF programs and research impacts. Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional writing experience, including at least three (3) years producing science-focused content
- Experience writing for digital platforms and multimedia products.
- Strong research, interviewing, and fact-checking skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in journalism, communications, or a science-related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop digital and print content including web pages, blogs, articles, fact sheets, and multimedia scripts.
- Translate complex NSF programs and research findings into accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Develop scripts for video and audio products explaining NSF initiatives.
- Apply SEO and AEO principles to digital content where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with the Plain Writing Act of 2010 and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
