About The Position

Cutters Fabrication Solutions is a precision sheet metal fabrication shop in Tempe, Arizona. We build custom products end to end, from laser cutting and press brake forming through welding, assembly, and finishing. Our work includes custom delivery truck bodies on Ford Transit chassis, steel frames, stainless steel display cases, material handling racks and carts, as well as both custom and production fabrication for outside customers. We run a small, tight-knit team on a day shift only, Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 3 pm, and Friday, 7 am to 12:30 pm, with no nights or weekends.

Requirements

  • Hands-on welding experience in a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong MIG and TIG skills across steel, stainless, and aluminum;a significant portion of the TIG work may be aluminum.
  • Experience welding sheet metal with good distortion control.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
  • Laser welding experience a plus.
  • Attention to detail, pride in cosmetic weld quality, and a safety-first mindset.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable to shifting production priorities.

Responsibilities

  • MIG and TIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet and tube assemblies to drawing and spec.
  • Produce clean, cosmetic-quality welds on display cases, truck bodies, racks, carts, and other fabricated products.
  • Control heat and distortion on sheet metal, using proper sequencing, fixturing, and technique.
  • Fit, tack, and weld assemblies from press-brake-formed and laser-cut parts.
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, weld symbols, and weld/construction/technical notes to understand each job's requirements.
  • Prep material by cleaning, grinding, deburring, and positioning parts and fixtures.
  • Inspect your own welds and finished assemblies for quality, dimensional accuracy, and fit.
  • Operate laser welding equipment once trained.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of shielding gas and equipment, and report equipment or material issues promptly.
  • Cross-train across other shop functions to support production flexibility.
