About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of welding, fitting, or related fabrication experience.
• Experience with Flux Core welding processes.
• Certification or demonstrated ability to perform horizontal and vertical welds.
• Ability to perform multi-pass welds with consistent quality.
• Ability to perform circumference, or “C,” welds.
• Ability to qualify as a flat welder.
• Ability to maintain a 90% pass rate on UT inspection.
• Basic understanding of Oxy Fuel and Plasma burning processes.
• Basic understanding of Carbon Arcing processes.
• Consistent and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide, and support a team of welders to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
• Repair welds and perform complex welding repairs as needed to meet quality standards.
• Assist in coordinating and completing work assignments to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal components and other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment.
• Complete advanced fitting, welding, and repair work requiring precision, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
• Weld clips, hardware, and related components in accordance with applicable specifications.
• Perform full-penetration welds, including slip joint welds, to connect ends to poles, channels, or other structural components.
• Operate grinding equipment and other tools safely and effectively to prepare, finish, and repair welded components.
• Train, coach, and assist less experienced welders as needed.
• Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using drawings, measurements, and specifications.
• Position components in jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments, hand tools, and established work methods.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications, quality requirements, and applicable inspection standards.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and efficiency while supporting continuous improvement within the work area.
• Follow all standard safety practices, procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support plant operations.
