About The Position
The Airborne Sensor Operator (ASO) supports a manned CONUS-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) program. Leidos provides contracted aircrew for an ISR aircraft that supplies imagery and multi-source data for real-time and after-action analysis. The ASO conducts routine and dynamic target-area assessment using full-motion video and analyzes and distributes multi-source information through onboard aircraft communications systems. The role requires maturity, skill, and experience to operate safely and effectively as aircrew in a tactical ISR environment. The operator uses electro-optical/infrared (E/O-IR) sensors and communications equipment. The ASO performs assigned preflight, flight, and post-flight duties to operate the assigned sensor suite safely and effectively across a variety of missions. Duties include mission planning and briefings, mission-system inspection and operation, troubleshooting, post-flight inspections and debriefings, intelligence-product preparation and distribution, and mission documentation. The ASO may also assist with sensor upgrades and maintenance. The position requires deployments of up to 90 days to CONUS or OCONUS locations as directed by the Government, travel to CONUS locations for training, and willingness to work long or non-regular hours and in hardship or hazardous locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience or 700 flight hours as an aircrew member on a multi-place military or government ISR contract aircraft; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Verifiable experience providing direct support to SOF ground forces using E/O-IR full-motion video sensors.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI.
- Current FAA Class II or III Medical Certificate issued within 6 months of employment start date.
- United States passport valid for 12 months after employment start date and ability to travel internationally.
- Current physiological training/altitude-chamber qualification, or proof of previously completed training.
- Excellent crew resource management (CRM) skills and ability to apply operational risk management (ORM) principles.
- Demonstrable interpretation and analysis experience using E/O-IR full-motion video sensors and ability to produce post-mission products using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to successfully accomplish airborne mission and flight operations and image analysis.
- Previous internal-aircraft, air-to-air, and air-to-ground communications experience.
- Willingness to deploy for rotations of up to 90 days to CONUS or OCONUS operating locations as directed by the Government.
- Willingness to travel to CONUS locations for training.
- Willingness to work long or non-regular hours with minimal notice.
- Willingness to work and execute airborne missions in hardship and hazardous locations.

- Previous ISR Warden experience.
- Air-to-air and air-to-ground communications coordination experience.
- Previous JTAC or military ISR mission/intelligence-product support experience.
- Previous ISR and/or instructor/evaluator experience in a combat environment.
- KUSS, PRC-117, VORTEX, or data-link experience.
