Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies and procedures. This role requires the ability to administer various respiratory therapy treatments, monitor ventilators, perform airway management, and conduct arterial punctures. The therapist must also be knowledgeable in oxygen delivery methods, patient assessment, and documentation. A key aspect of this role involves understanding and applying age-specific techniques and treatment modalities for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics, as well as adhering to medication safety protocols and maintaining a safe patient care environment. The position also includes performing EKGs, managing departmental equipment, and educating patients and their families. The Respiratory Therapist is expected to attend educational sessions and perform additional duties as assigned.
