Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital location in Woodbury, MN. Within our ICU, our Registered Nurses are responsible for caring for patients who have many different diagnoses including, but not limited to, sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, and surgical patients who need a higher level of care. Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a fast-paced and highly technical medical environment. This Intermediate Care position belongs to the ICU unit, but it is a mixed service level unit. There is opportunity for IMC to cross train to critical care skill. This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Night shift, working every third weekend. The unit is ICU 3 North, an 18-bed mixed acuity unit caring for patients aged 18+. The average patient length of stay is 3-4 days. The patient population includes those on vents, experiencing respiratory failures, septic patients, shock, unstable post-surgical patients, and those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes. The unit typically sees 7-14 patients a day, with plans to increase these numbers. Free parking is available.
