The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in the Bone Health Clinic and is responsible for performing assessments, collecting data, and formulating patient care plans. The role involves evaluating the effectiveness of care, demonstrating psychomotor skills, and educating patients and their significant others. The RN will also be responsible for documentation, adhering to safety protocols, and functioning efficiently in emergency situations. This position requires a strong knowledge base in nursing standards, patient care resources, and relevant drugs and lab values. The RN must demonstrate self-responsibility and accountability within the Illinois Practice Act, actively participate in staff development, and engage in continuing education for professional growth. They will seek validation of their knowledge and decision-making skills, manage legal aspects of practice, and contribute to unit and department goals. The role involves participating in standards development, Performance Improvement (PI) activities, and coordinating patient care. Effective organization, priority setting, and communication skills are essential. The RN will foster effective working relationships, utilize lines of authority appropriately, and remain flexible in staffing. Problem identification and decision-making skills are crucial, along with the ability to apply theory to clinical settings. The RN may assist LPNs and CNAs with patient care and manage a clinical nursing schedule for injections, IVs, and lab draws under the direction of an APP. Other duties as assigned, and potential travel to other clinics may be required.
