About The Position

Coordinates the daily operations of the hospital to ensure operational units are running effectively and efficiently. Provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise. Assumes responsibility for supervision and administrative decision making for the care and coordination of nursing and patient care services during the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Ensures that hospital policies and procedures are followed. Participates in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Acts as the Incident Commander until relieved by a more senior administrator during a hospital disaster. Oversees assignment of patient care services staff from Central Resource Team to units. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care. Oversees flow of medical charts, supplies, and staffing to maintain adequate levels. Trains, coaches, evaluates, and supervises associates on performance expectations and applies progressive discipline when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of Nursing.
  • Completion of Front Line Leadership Development Program within one year.
  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN, Bachelor (BS, BA) in related field.
  • Supervisory experience or experience working in lead or charge capacity.
