About The Position
Join Hartford HealthCare at Backus Hospital as a Pharmacy Intern. This role assists registered pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications, both sterile and non-sterile. Responsibilities include maintaining records and inventory to ensure medications are readily available for patient administration. Backus Hospital has been a primary healthcare provider in Eastern Connecticut for over 118 years, featuring the only trauma center and LIFE STAR helicopter services in its region. Hartford HealthCare is Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network, known for patient care and personalized coordinated care.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited PharmD program
- Pharmacy Intern registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection required by March 31st of each year.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Manual dexterity and basic keyboard skills.
Responsibilities
- Assists registered pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing and distribution of sterile and non-sterile medication.
- Maintains records and inventory.
- Ensures medications are ready and available for patient administration.
