About The Position
The Occupational Therapist works in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation at Seton Smithville Regional Hospital in Smithville, Texas. The role involves assessing patient needs and collaborating with physicians, care teams, and families to develop individualized care plans that support recovery. The therapist delivers targeted therapeutic care, documents progress, teaches rehabilitation techniques to patients and caregivers, and coordinates caseloads with therapy and medical staff to prioritize care and support seamless handoffs. The position is PRN, day schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Occupational Therapy credential from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners required within 180 days of hire or job transfer.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient needs with physicians, care teams, and families to design personalized care plans that support recovery.
- Deliver targeted therapeutic care and maintain documentation to guide patients toward their goals.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers practical rehabilitation techniques tailored to the patient’s diagnosis.
- Coordinate daily caseloads with therapy and medical staff to prioritize patient care needs and ensure seamless handoffs.
