About The Position

Requirements

• Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology, and equipment within the assigned service area.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry are required.
• Certification is required if designated by law, such as for Home Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic health care needs and daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation, and dining needs.
• Support patients’ emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient health care.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use.
• Prepare and clean medical equipment.
• Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
