About The Position

Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant from the state.
• Must be a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with the laws of this State.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must provide documentation of certification upon application for the position.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in AL or SNU.
• Prior experience as a certified nurse aide for at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Completing the daily shift report and communicating directly to the next shift any urgent needs.
• Performing all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors.
• Managing assigned tasks within the scheduled shift.
• Assisting with resident care to include housekeeping, laundry, social needs, and demonstrating proper lifting techniques.
• Assisting with serving meals and essential clean-up.
• Recording all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
• Reporting all changes in the resident’s condition to the DON/Charge Nurse/HWD as soon as practical.
• Agreeing not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly reporting suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Keeping certification current and participating in continuing education to include staff meetings, in services and web-based training.
