About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACEN-accredited associate’s degree or diploma nursing program.
• If the nursing program was not ACEN-accredited, at least one year of RN experience within the last five years in an applicable care setting is required.
• If graduation was more than two years ago, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
• Active Minnesota Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• Availability to attend required orientation: Mayo Clinic Orientation on the start date from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by seven weekdays of Charter House orientation and training from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and prioritize resident needs.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills for interacting with Health Service and Charter House staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including collecting, comparing, sorting, and prioritizing information for decision-making for groups of residents and employees.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
• Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

• Applicants with international degrees must provide a detailed equivalency evaluation demonstrating a U.S.-equivalent degree from an organization listed by NACES or AICE.

Nice To Haves

• One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health, or two years of acute care nursing.
• Experience or commitment relevant to resident-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centered nursing care in alignment with Mayo Clinic standards, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct resident care and monitor and manage residents’ health needs across care settings, including Individualized Health Services, Catered Living, and Enhanced Living.
• Supervise nursing care provided by the professional and ancillary nursing team across care settings.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary health care teams to assess and plan for care, education, safety, well-being, and discharge needs.
• Accurately document skilled interventions to reflect clinical judgment and resident needs.
• Attend all required Mayo Clinic and Charter House orientation sessions.
