About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) program, or a high school diploma/GED with AART certification, as stated in the posting.
• Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques, and applications, and ability to use imaging technology on patients for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
• Knowledge of preparing patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and monitoring their reactions during and after procedures.
• Ability to respond to emergent situations by applying appropriate measures.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to lift and carry 40–50 pounds; duties may include pushing/pulling patients on beds or stretchers, lateral transfers, frequent to continuous standing and walking, and role-specific activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.

Responsibilities

• Process and evaluate technical image quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Maintain critical patient and equipment positioning during contrast-media flow to support patient safety and successful examinations.
• Instruct patients on positioning during MRI exams and testing; explain procedures before and after scanning and answer patient questions.
• Determine equipment requirements based on physicians’ tentative diagnoses and prepare scout films for physicians’ preliminary review.
• Clean and test MRI equipment on schedule, document results, and notify supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
• Implement MRI safety guidelines and conduct proper MRI safety procedures during imaging.
• Perform other technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, including quality assurance and control duties.
• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson’s values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
