About The Position

FirstHealth of the Carolinas, a nationally recognized health care system, is seeking an eager and motivated MRI Technologist Trainee to join our dynamic imaging team. This position provides hands-on experience for individuals actively enrolled in an accredited MRI training program, offering a structured learning environment under the guidance of experienced technologists. As part of FirstHealth’s commitment to clinical excellence, the trainee will gain proficiency in MRI operations, patient care, and safety protocols while being immersed in a leading-edge health system.

Requirements

• ARRT Certification in Radiology is required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited MRI technologist training program.
• Strong interest in medical imaging and patient-centered care.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Must meet all health and safety requirements for clinical training.

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing MRI scans under the supervision of licensed MRI Technologists.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and explaining the process.
• Support MRI operations, including patient positioning, scan preparation, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Learn and apply scanning techniques for various MRI and MRA studies, including head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities, and breast imaging.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and industry standards.
• Participate in training sessions and coursework as part of an accredited MRI program.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills to contribute to a patient-centered approach.
