About The Position

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• An associate's degree and/or bachelor's degree in science or medical technology; students pursuing these studies may be considered on a case-by-case basis, with limitations on duties and required supervision.
• Certification by a nationally recognized agency as a Medical Technician, either as a generalist or in a specialty area such as Hematology, Chemistry, and/or Blood Bank.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes under the direct and indirect supervision of a medical technologist.
• Enter all test results into the computer system.
• Bring panic-value test results to the attention of appropriate personnel.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Maintain laboratory inventory.
• Perform high-complexity testing under the supervision of a medical technologist.
