About The Position

The EKG Tech helps the hospital care team by performing EKG tests, capturing accurate heart rhythm readings, and making sure results are available quickly for clinical review. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful EKG course certificate of completion preferred.
  • Experience in assisting physician with Stress Testing preferred.
  • Previous office experience preferred ? 1year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EKG/ECG tests on patients throughout the hospital
  • Place leads/electrodes correctly on the patient’s chest, arms, and legs
  • Explain the test to patients and help them feel comfortable
  • Operate EKG equipment and make sure the tracing is clear and accurate
  • Send or upload results so nurses, physicians, or cardiology staff can review them
  • Assist with cardiac testing such as stress tests, Holter monitors, or rhythm monitoring, depending on the facility
