Mechanical Engineer, Composite Structures & Manufacturing

Mach Industries•Victorville, CA
•$105,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Mach Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of composite structures for next-generation autonomous defense vehicles, with a strong focus on manufacturability. The role spans design, analysis, fabrication, and testing, helping take composite components from concept through flight test. The engineer will develop structures and processes that are repeatable and scalable, rather than suited only to one-off prototypes. The position involves designing composite structures and components, supporting laminate design and structural-performance evaluation, working with manufacturing teams to refine fabrication methods and tooling, and providing hands-on fabrication support. The engineer will also support validation testing, compare test results with analysis, iterate designs and processes based on feedback and production needs, and contribute to technical documentation and engineering reviews. Extended hours or weekends may be needed to support project milestones. Applicants must meet applicable U.S. export-control requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations. The role offers a salary range of $105,000–$180,000 USD, performance-based incentives, stock options or equity, health, dental and vision plans, retirement savings, paid time off, and funding for continuing education, training, and career growth.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience designing, analyzing, or building composite structures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with NX or similar CAD software.
  • Familiarity with FEA using ANSYS or an equivalent tool.
  • Hands-on experience with composite fabrication, such as prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, or bonded assemblies.
  • Experience supporting composite hardware through design, fabrication, or testing.
  • Interest in designing for manufacturability and repeatable production.
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations for applicable export-controlled information.
