Senior Composite Design Engineer

Janicki Industries•Hamilton, WA

About The Position

Janicki Industries is seeking a Senior Composite Design Engineer to contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of new aircraft platforms and modifications to existing aircraft. The role develops and documents composite parts and assemblies that meet performance, weight, and cost requirements while supporting manufacturability. It requires technical proficiency, precision, methodical work, and analytical thinking to solve design problems. The engineer owns the design and development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations. The work includes CAD modeling in NX, structural sizing, design reviews, documentation, and evaluation of feedback. The engineer coordinates across engineering, manufacturing, procurement/planning, quality assurance, and other departments to mature designs from conception through production, and works with manufacturing teams on producible design packages, tooling, fixtures, documentation, and design changes. The position participates in, leads, and initiates design reviews; presents CAD models and technical explanations; and incorporates multidisciplinary feedback. It also includes mentoring less experienced engineers and assisting the Project Engineer with day-to-day design-team tasking. Punctuality and good attendance are essential conditions of employment. Other duties may be assigned. The position may require obtaining a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for that clearance. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory and require agreement to participate in a Continuous Evaluation program.
