About The Position

Requirements

• Previous Swiss CNC machine operating experience is preferred; candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn may be trained.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, indicators, and gauges, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform basic machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• Basic math skills, including performing calculations and interpreting measurements.
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and maintain information in an ERP or manufacturing system.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, precision, and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow established work instructions and procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new skills and processes.
• Ability to meet the visual requirements necessary for precision inspection and machining tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to continuously lift 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend and stoop to pick up product, stretch and reach, and stand or walk for the entire shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand motions and use fine motor skills frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Formal CNC machining training or certification is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, and machining processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more Swiss CNC machines to perform machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, threading, and milling to specifications.
• Monitor machine operation and verify workpiece conformance using precision measuring and inspection tools.
• Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to meet job requirements.
• Make basic machine and tool adjustments to maintain part conformance.
• Check parts for quality and control non-conforming parts according to protocols.
• Adjust part dimensions using offsets; change inserts; and center and touch off tools.
• Ensure job documentation and equipment—including the router, scheduling board, blueprint, inspection instructions, gauging box, and tooling—are complete and accounted for.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of machine and bar feeder alarms.
• Prepare and load specified bar stock into the feeding mechanism.
• Follow ISO work instructions and inspection requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance to optimize CNC machine performance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Record and maintain production data and documentation.
