About The Position
Signature Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families navigating end-of-life care. This role is ideal for someone called to serve others with empathy, dignity, and respect for diverse beliefs and traditions. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary hospice team, you'll help patients find comfort, peace, and connection during life's most important moments.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (MDiv, BD, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting individuals and families through grief, loss, or serious illness.
- Ability to work respectfully within diverse faith traditions and cultures.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Hospice, healthcare chaplaincy, or pastoral care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual assessments and ongoing spiritual care to hospice patients and families.
- Support patients and loved ones through illness, grief, loss, and end-of-life transitions.
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, physicians, and other hospice team members.
- Coordinate with community clergy and faith leaders to meet patient needs.
- Participate in care planning meetings and patient conferences.
- Document visits and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct memorial or funeral services upon request.
- Help educate staff and volunteers on spiritual care and hospice philosophy.
