The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator. This full-time position is located in Augusta and requires regular travel throughout Somerset & Kennebec Counties. The role allows for partial telework with management approval. The position is responsible for ensuring that children with behavioral health needs have access to the most effective services in the least restrictive environment. The coordinator will support parents, caregivers, and professional colleagues in Kennebec and Somerset Counties to access and navigate the child behavioral health system of care in Maine. Collaboration with other state agencies such as OADS, OBH (adults), Child Welfare, and Mainecare is essential to ensure youth obtain appropriate services and supports. The role involves participating in community-based collaborative meetings and forums specific to Kennebec and Somerset Counties, and facilitating or attending meetings regarding complex youth needs in various settings like emergency rooms, psychiatric hospitals, crisis units, and residential programs. Additionally, the coordinator will be part of a statewide team, staying informed about promising and evidence-based practice models, contributing to policy and practice, and maintaining consistency across districts.
