About The Position

The Barista Team Lead is responsible for leading the coffeehouse team, ensuring high-quality service, and supporting store operations. This role involves supervising and training baristas, managing daily operations, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The position requires adherence to food safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
  • Adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of barista experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of specialty drinks, ingredients, and coffee equipment.
  • Ability to use computer systems for orders and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Patience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train baristas, ensuring they follow set standards for customer service, product quality, and safety.
  • Build rapport with customers, respond to questions effectively, and maintain a friendly, professional attitude.
  • Assist the Retail Manager in coordinating daily operations, including ordering and receiving products, completing paperwork, and planning work assignments.
  • Help the Retail Manager with interviews and train new associates, appraise performance, and provide feedback to improve skills.
  • Address customer complaints, help resolve issues, and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
  • Follow food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and company policies.
  • Stock and display products according to merchandising standards.
