About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university required
• Unrestricted Athletic Trainer (ATC) licensure to practice in State of employment

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and training preferred
• Newly licensed encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Practice and event coverage with training room hours
• Prevent, assess, and treat emergency, acute, and chronic injuries
• Recondition athletes and active individuals after injury to prevent injury recurrence, impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities
• Develop working relationships with area schools and industries to provide offsite outreach specialty programs
• Act as a liaison between hospital, athletes, parents, coaches, school administration and supervising physician; coordinating care and referrals
• Prescribe routine and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles
• Render first aid to injured players such as artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wounds, and applying heat and cold to promote healing
• Communicate with coaches, parents, clinical team, physician team and expanded healthcare team as needed
• Treat chronic minor injuries and related disabilities to maintain athletes’ performance
