About The Position

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking friendly, dependable, guest-focused Host/Hostess team members. Hosts are often the first point of contact for guests and help create a welcoming, memorable experience by greeting guests, assisting with seating and reservations, and supporting smooth dining-area operations. The ideal candidate is a team player who takes initiative, communicates effectively, pays attention to detail, and is willing to support the team wherever needed. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Full-time and part-time seasonal opportunities are available.

Requirements

• Must have SafeServ Certification or be able to obtain it after being hired.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with a Point-of-Sale system is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, make eye contact, engage them in conversation, and encourage them to return.
• Answer the telephone and respond appropriately.
• Take delivery and To-Go orders.
• Handle payment transactions.
• Communicate with the kitchen about reservations, large groups, and the current seating pace.
• Provide quality guest service to help ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
• Set up or restock product and service items.
• Take out garbage and wipe down counters and equipment.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests.
• Assist fellow team members as needed.
• Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
• Communicate absences and schedule changes promptly.
• Complete side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
