About The Position

SAFEbuilt is currently seeking an experienced Planning and Zoning Administrator to provide support to operations in the Chambersburg, PA area. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected zoning regulation team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

Requirements

Must possess the ability to positively interact with other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental agencies, and other clientele.
Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning, specifically the regulation of land uses.
Basic knowledge of land development processes including, zoning regulations, land entitlements, and public infrastructure construction.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.
Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information into company software programs.
Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record required

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with online permitting applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide reviews pertaining to zoning and zoning conditions, overlay, open space, building form, sited design and landscape compliance for the following building and site plans.
Research and interpret local zoning ordinances and related municipal regulations.
Review zoning permit applications for compliance with municipality-specific requirements.
Provide guidance to applicants, contractors, property owners, and municipal officials on zoning and land use questions.
Maintain knowledge of the IPMC and other adopted codes that may vary by municipality.
Assist with zoning enforcement and compliance issues as needed.
Coordinate plan review tracking, reporting, and interaction with applicable departments
Review plans for compliance including verification of dimensional requirements
Coordinate with plan reviewers of building and land development codes as necessary
Run reports from permitting software documenting reviews completed and duration time
Be a resource for team members and provide support for roundtable as needed
