About The Position

This position leads, motivates, trains, and supports warehouse activities through a team of warehouse personnel. The supervisor ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed efficiently and that precautions are taken to protect warehouse contents against loss. The role oversees general warehouse operations, maintains a consistent presence on the dock, and supports warehouse work as needed to meet objectives and goals. The position may manage more than $2.5 million in inventory and use production tools to measure employee productivity. It supervises up to 3–10 employees and requires up to 5% travel. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED with 4–6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Understanding of safe methods and procedures for receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping, and delivery.
Basic knowledge of inventory procedures.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to meet the company's Driver Management Program qualifications if travel or driving is required for the role.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Furniture repair and home delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise general warehouse operations and employees.
Schedule inbound and outbound arrivals.
Maintain a constant dock presence and inspect work in progress.
Apply and enforce policies and procedures.
Train and supervise personnel to maximize productivity.
Hire, train, coach, and conduct official evaluations for warehouse personnel.
Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness throughout the facility and property.
Unload, load, deluxe, and perform minor furniture repairs as needed.
Perform warehouse duties as needed to ensure objectives and goals are met.
Use production tools to measure employee productivity.
