YR-M.O.S.T PE Assistant
About The Position
The YR-M.O.S.T PE Assistant supports physical education programs in community and educational settings, helping increase participant engagement and promote physical wellness. The assistant works with lead instructors to organize and facilitate activities, maintain a safe and inclusive environment, and support exercise plans tailored to participants’ abilities. The role also involves communicating with participants and families, collaborating with team members, and helping monitor participant progress and address concerns. The position aims to foster a positive, motivating atmosphere that supports physical development and overall well-being.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of physical education principles and safety protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including children and adults.
- Physical capability to assist in active physical education sessions.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in physical education, coaching, or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities.
- Post-secondary coursework or training in physical education, kinesiology, or health sciences.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead physical education instructors in planning and conducting physical activity sessions.
- Monitor activities and provide support to help ensure participants’ safety and well-being.
- Set up and maintain equipment and facilities used for physical education programs.
- Encourage participant engagement and provide motivation and guidance.
- Record attendance, track participant progress, and share observations with the lead instructor.
- Help adapt activities for participants with varying physical abilities.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
