About The Position

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our New York City office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week. As our YouTube Channel Strategist, you'll be the strategic mastermind behind TPG's channel evolution—translating business goals into audience insights and building content architectures that drive real growth. This isn't about making videos; it's about building a channel empire that connects with audiences, drives traffic, and generates measurable business impact. You'll work at the intersection of data, creativity, and strategy to define what kind of YouTube presence TPG becomes.

Requirements

  • 4-7+ years in YouTube strategy, channel management, or creator-side role with demonstrated growth results
  • Deep fluency in YouTube Analytics including retention graphs, CTR benchmarks and impression-to-view funnels
  • Proven experience building content pillars and series concepts at the channel level
  • Strong understanding of thumbnail strategy, title construction and metadata optimization
  • Hands-on experience with YouTube Shorts editing or close familiarity to provide strategic feedback
  • Experience with YouTube Studio, TubeBuddy or VidIQ platforms
  • Strong communication skills to build alignment across production, editorial and social teams
  • Management experience with direct reports and growth-oriented feedback delivery

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute a comprehensive YouTube roadmap aligned to company goals including traffic, conversions, and audience development
  • Define content pillars, series architecture and publishing cadence at the channel level
  • Lead Shorts strategy as a distinct format with dedicated performance tracking
  • Analyze viewer behavior, retention patterns and funnel performance to drive strategic decisions
  • Optimize thumbnail strategy through visual standards, A/B testing and performance iteration
  • Track competitor channels, algorithm updates and creator economy shifts for discovery optimization
  • Manage and develop a direct report while partnering cross-functionally with video production teams
