Youth Transport Driver
About The Position
KVC Health Systems is seeking a driver to provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for children in foster care within its service system in the Wichita, Kansas area. The driver helps children travel securely and comfortably to foster care placements, providing a professional, supportive experience during transitions. The role requires schedule flexibility, including days, evenings, weekends, and short-notice assignments as needed. The driver monitors and documents children’s behavior, maintains a safe and positive atmosphere, and ensures the vehicle is clean and operational. The role also works closely with KVC staff and external clients to support a seamless transportation experience. KVC Kansas is a private nonprofit organization serving children and adults through a range of family, foster care, adoption, and mental health services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Experience with children or families.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, days, and on short notice.
Responsibilities
- Transport children safely and securely to foster care placements.
- Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs with professionalism and care.
- Monitor and document behavior while maintaining a safe, positive atmosphere for children.
- Maintain a clean and operational vehicle to support safety.
- Work closely with KVC staff and external clients to provide a seamless, supportive experience for children.
