Youth Services Specialist
About The Position
People Incorporated is seeking a Youth Services Specialist stationed in Abingdon, Virginia. The Specialist implements Youth Services programs by engaging with high school students at local high schools and helping prepare them for education and career success. The role includes participant recruitment, program delivery, and reporting, and involves working with department and organization staff to promote program and participant success. The Specialist oversees compliance with contracts involving youth services funding and oversees program expenditures. The role also includes maintaining a Project Discovery Advisory Council and meeting with the council quarterly. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in education, human services, or another related field.
- Two years of experience in a program serving youth.
Responsibilities
- Engage with high school students by visiting local high schools to implement Youth Services programs.
- Prepare youth for education and career success through program delivery.
- Recruit participants for youth services programs.
- Complete program reporting.
- Work with department and organization staff to promote program and participant success.
- Oversee compliance with contracts involving youth services funding.
- Oversee expenditures.
- Maintain the Project Discovery Advisory Council and meet with the council quarterly.
