About The Position

The Youth Services Specialist II assists the Supervisor with the operation and programming needs of the Youth Services Department. This role involves developing age-appropriate programs, assisting with collection development and maintenance, utilizing technology for youth services, helping customers with information requests, and assisting with grant writing. The position is full-time, nonexempt, requiring 40 hours per week with a variable schedule within the Maring-Hunt Library's operating hours. The Muncie Public Library's mission is to provide accessible and innovative services responding to the reading, informational, educational, and enrichment needs of the community. Maring-Hunt Library, specifically, offers a wide range of resources and programs for all ages, including early literacy and after-school programs, computer access, Wi-Fi, and community meeting spaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to obtain an LC4 or higher Indiana Librarian Certification (IAC 5-1-8)
