About The Position

Zach Gordon Youth Center is hiring a full-time Youth Services Coordinator I to provide grant-funded afterschool programming at Cedar Park and Geneva Woods in Douglas. The position is based at Cedar Park and must also be present at Geneva Woods; working from home may be possible. The coordinator works directly with youth, develops and delivers engaging programming, recruits youth, and helps create safe and welcoming spaces. The role also supports families through monthly family nights and communication about activities and events, and supervises up to four part-time staff who support programming at both sites.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
At least six months of combined work experience or post-secondary education in any field.
Valid driver's license at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointment.
Appointment is conditional on a criminal records report; applicants must not have convictions with a direct nexus to duties supervising minors.
Applicants must accurately document their education and work experience in the application.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with youth and/or families impacted by trauma.
Experience coordinating patient referral or care services.

Responsibilities

Provide 12 hours per week of on-site programming directly to youth at Geneva Woods or Cedar Park.
Organize monthly family nights, field trips, and ongoing support for youth.
Recruit youth to participate in programming.
Develop and implement fun, engaging programming.
Create a safe and engaging space for youth.
Supervise up to four part-time staff supporting programming at both sites.
Coach part-time staff, communicate shift schedules, and interview and train new part-time staff.
Communicate with families about upcoming activities and events.
