Youth Program Leader - Downtown LA
About The Position
Arc Experience is hiring a part-time, non-exempt Youth Program Leader for its after-school program at Equitas Academy 4 in Los Angeles. Program Leaders work directly with students, supporting social-emotional learning, homework, enrichment, recreation, and other activities. The role aims to make learning engaging, build students’ confidence, and support their safety and well-being. The schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. One weekday is a minimum day, with hours around 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the school. The position pays $21 per hour and reports to the Site Coordinator of the school site.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
- Good communication skills and comfort communicating with both children and parents.
- College transcripts showing at least 48 completed college credit units, or passing an academic proficiency exam.
- Obtain a TB test and provide proof of a negative result.
- Pass a Live Scan background check.
- Reliably commute before starting work.
- If the school site requires COVID-19 vaccination, provide documentation showing full vaccination.

Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome students to the program at the end of the school day.
- Organize and lead activities such as homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
- Participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
- Create unique clubs for students.
- Follow safety protocols, monitor student behavior, and manage group dynamics to maintain a secure environment.
- Oversee students’ safety and well-being during after-school activities.
- Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to students’ diverse needs and interests.
