About The Position

Arc Experience is seeking a part-time Program Leader for its after-school program at Equitas Academy 3 in Los Angeles, California. Program Leaders work directly with students, supporting social-emotional learning, homework, enrichment activities, and recreation. They help make learning engaging, build students’ confidence, and create positive experiences after school.

The role runs Monday through Friday, generally from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. One school day is a minimum day, with hours around 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the school. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Site Coordinator of the school site. Pay is $21 per hour.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate comfortably with children and parents.
• College transcripts showing completion of at least 48 college credit units, or passing an academic proficiency exam.
• Obtain a TB test and provide proof of a negative result.
• Pass a Live Scan background check.
• Reliably commute to the work location before starting work.
• Provide documentation of full COVID-19 vaccination if required by the school where assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome students to the program at the end of the school day.
• Organize and lead homework help, recreational games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create unique clubs for students.
• Follow safety protocols, monitor student behavior, and manage group dynamics to maintain a secure environment.
• Oversee students’ safety and well-being during after-school activities.
• Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to students’ diverse needs and interests.
