About The Position

The TVC Youth Pastor will provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for TVC YTH, cultivating a ministry culture that helps students encounter God’s love, experience transformation in Jesus, and learn to extend the miraculous. This role involves leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of Junior High weekend services and Sunday night YTH gatherings, ensuring every environment is welcoming, safe, engaging, and Spirit-led. The Youth Pastor will develop and oversee the spiritual formation strategy for students, creating pathways for salvation, discipleship, leadership development, and ministry involvement. They will serve as the primary shepherd and spiritual leader for students, volunteer leaders, and families connected to TVC YTH. Additionally, the role includes overseeing ministry calendars, budgets, volunteer schedules, and communication systems, as well as leading the planning and execution of youth events, retreats, camps, conferences, and ministry experiences. The Youth Pastor will also serve as the primary communicator for TVC YTH, overseeing the development of curriculum, teaching series, discipleship resources, and small-group content. This position involves recruiting, training, developing, and pastoring volunteer leaders and student leaders, and building strong relationships with students and families, providing pastoral care and support. The role also includes officiating weddings and funerals, participating in pastoral care activities, engaging with people during weekend services, and serving as part of the pastoral team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of Junior High weekend services and Sunday night YTH gatherings, ensuring every environment is welcoming, safe, engaging, and Spirit-led.
  • Develop and oversee the spiritual formation strategy for students, creating pathways for salvation, discipleship, leadership development, and ministry involvement.
  • Serve as the primary shepherd and spiritual leader for students, volunteer leaders, and families connected to TVC YTH.
  • Establish, track, and regularly evaluate ministry metrics to assess engagement, growth, and ministry effectiveness.
  • Oversee ministry calendars, budgets, volunteer schedules, and communication systems.
  • Lead the planning and execution of youth events, retreats, camps, conferences, and ministry experiences that support the overall discipleship strategy of TVC YTH.
  • Serve as the primary communicator for TVC YTH, while recruiting, equipping, and developing additional communicators and teachers.
  • Oversee the development of youth ministry curriculum, teaching series, discipleship resources, and small-group content that align with TVC’s vision, values, and theology.
  • Create opportunities for students to encounter God through worship, prayer, Scripture, ministry times, and Spirit-led experiences.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and pastor volunteer leaders, including Crew Leaders, Communicators / Teaching Team, Café Team, and Welcome Team.
  • Provide coaching, encouragement, accountability, and ongoing development opportunities for volunteer leaders.
  • Lead regular leadership gatherings to communicate vision, celebrate wins, provide training, and strengthen team culture.
  • Identify, mentor, and develop student leaders, helping them discover their gifts and grow as followers of Jesus.
  • Cultivate a healthy leadership culture marked by spiritual maturity, servant leadership, relational connection, and ownership of the ministry's mission.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families, serving as a trusted pastoral presence and resource.
  • Develop systems that help new students and families connect quickly and experience belonging within TVC YTH.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding ministry vision, events, discipleship opportunities, and student development.
  • Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and support to students and families during significant life events and spiritual milestones.
  • Officiate weddings and funerals as needed.
  • Provide pastoral care through pastoral meetings, hospital visits, phone calls, participation in our pastoral care program, and being available to respond during times of need or emergency.
  • Engage with and minister to people during weekend services through greeting, prayer, conversation, and pastoral presence.
  • Participate in all-church events and ministry gatherings, including Holy Spirit Nights, conferences, and other key church events.
  • Help teach and facilitate classes, trainings, or discipleship environments as needed.
  • Serve as part of the pastoral team and faithfully carry the responsibilities of an elder within the life of the church.
